These are Brian (the Bat) and Danny (the Olm). I designed these characters to be mascots for an educational children's book.
The project's theme environmental science, specifically “caves”.
When deciding on the characters, I looked into cave-dwelling animals and found one site that only had two animals listed those being a Bat and an Olm.
The book had Brain and Danny exploring different caves and explaining what they were.
One of the caves they visited were ice caves hence the one image of them covered in snow.
Olms, in case your wondering, are amphibian related to newts, and salamanders. They kinda look like axolotls with more spindly bodies. Which is why Danny's legs are so far from where his body touches the ground.
